SAS/SATA JBOD
For Digital Video Editing & Rendering applications, we highly recommend our JBOD to bundle with the Areca SAS RAID Adapters, such as: ARC-1680X, ARC-1680LP, and ARC-1680-IX-xx. For ARC-1680 series SAS RAID Adapters work very well in Windows, Mac, and Linux, and provide excellent performance which are most needed by those digital video applications.
What is SAS/SATA JBOD? It is a disk enclosure which houses multiple disks, and it has a SAS interface connection to the host computer. The disks can be SAS(serial attached scsi) or SATA(serial ata) disks. JBOD stands for "Just a Bunch Of Disks", it has no RAID functions; the RAID functions are normally provided by the SAS RAID adapter in the host computer which the JBOD connected to, or the external SAS RAID enclosure unit that the JBOD connected to. SAS/SATA JBOD provides an easy way for computer to expand capcity as direct-attached storage.
