Based on 3Gb SAS host interface, the E2128J supports the choice of SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) and/or SATA II (Serial ATA) disk configurations. The feature extends the life/duty cycle of the hard disks and power supply. | LCD Display & Enclosure ID Includes LCD to display critical information of the enclosure. Also, the LCD shows the ID of the enclosure, so that in a multiple enclosures environment, when the RAID management console tells which enclosure has drive failure, you know exactly which enclosure to go to. | SES Enclosure Management Utilizes industry-standard SCSI Enclosure Services (SES) to monitor enclousre and disk status and conditions, and communicate with host RAID adapter to report those info from within the host RAID management console. | PHY Zoning Zoning(aka PHY Zoning) is to divide up 12 disks into 2 groups, each IN-Port allows access to one group without interference to the other group. So two RAID controllers can share the same JBOD with each has its own group of disks to create RAID volume over SATA disks without the expensive interposer/MUX boards.
